In the city of Miami, the Heat have struggled to stay competitive all season long. From injuries to a lack of roster depth, it seems the obstacles are starting to finally overwhelm this franchise just a few years after their run to the Finals.

But as LeBron James continues to have his own struggles in Los Angeles, the idea of a reunion between the Heat and their former franchise superstar is starting to pick up steam.

Notably, it’s being reported that LeBron has a lot of respect for Miami’s current dynamic duo in Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo.

LeBron has tremendous regard for Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo as competitors.

That I know.

LeBron has respect for a lot of people, but the situation in Miami is especially interesting for him. Since James still wants to win at this stage of his career, he can compete in the East with Butler and Bam leading the way. Best of all, it’s a situation he already knows well having played and won several championships there.

LeBron James Says He Wants To Play Meaningful Games

While the King may not be playing at the same level he used to be, he’s still someone who impacts games in a meaningful way and he made it clear after L.A.’s recent loss that he isn’t ready to be in a situation where he’s not competing for the playoffs.

“I don’t wanna finish my career playing at this level from a team aspect,” said James after the game. “I still want to compete for championships. I know what I can bring to any ball club with the right pieces. I’m a winner and I want to win. And I want to win and give myself a chance to win and still compete for championships,” James said. “That has always been my passion, that has always been my goal since I entered the league as an 18-year-old kid out of Akron, Ohio. And I know it takes steps to get there, but once you get there and know how to get there, playing basketball at this level just to be playing basketball is not in my DNA. It’s not in my DNA anymore. So, we’ll see what happens and see how fresh my mind stays over the next couple years.”

It remains to be seen if the Lakers can make something of LeBron’s twilight years, but this season may already be a wash.

If they don’t find a way to make a run here in the next few weeks, they dig themselves a hole too deep low to recover from.
