NBA Rumors: Damian Lillard Wants To Play With Draymond Green In Portland

Draymond Green is still a coveted player in the NBA after shining with the Golden State Warriors for the last couple of years. The big man is ready to help his team compete this season and he would prefer to stay there for the rest of his career but Green is a sought-after player whether the Warriors like it or not.

Green has been terrific for his team over the past couple of years and several teams around the association would love to have him on board. Recently, we learned that one of the best players in the league, Portland Trail Blazers’ Damian Lillard, is very interested in joining forces with Green in Portland and see how they can play together.

During a recent episode of The Athletic NBA Show, Sam Amick revealed Lillard’s desire to bring Green to Portland, even saying that he and “his group” have been trying to make that a reality over the past few years.

“If we were handicapping Draymond trade destinations if the Warriors decided to blow it up… That’s the one Damian (Lillard) and his group have for the last couple years been campaigning for,” Amick revealed.

This is very interesting to know but right now it seems very unlikely to happen. Something that could fuel these rumors is the fact that Draymond was reportedly going to be traded if the Warriors didn’t improve at the start of the season. Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes even dared to say that one team would be more than happy to receive Green but didn’t mention anybody.

These rumors might be shut down now that the Warriors are showing a much better face, everything after Green returned from an injury. This is their leader and it would be crazy to see the Dubs letting Green walk when they know he’s the heart and soul of the team.
