Bobby Marks Suggests 76ers Should Trade Ben Simmons And Matisse Thybulle To Celtics For Jaylen Brown And Juancho Hernangomez

The Ben Simmons trade saga was expected by many to end before the start of the season. However, Daryl Morey has been steadfast in not accepting subpar offers for the 3-time All-Star, and it’s clear that he wants an impact player to pair with Joel Embiid and bolster their contention hopes.

NBA analyst Bobby Marks has recently suggested a Ben Simmons trade that could be good from the Philadelphia 76ers’ perspective. The trade featured Ben Simmons and Matisse Thybulle getting moved to the Boston Celtics in exchange for Jaylen Brown and Juancho Hernangomez.

This trade could potentially be good for both teams. People have long claimed that the fit between Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown is poor, and there have even been reports that the Celtics could split up the two in the future. This trade would allow the Philadelphia 76ers to get a perimeter shot creator in Jaylen Brown next to Joel Embiid while providing the Boston Celtics with a star who could potentially be a better fit next to Jayson Tatum. Matisse Thybulle is an elite perimeter defender, and he would be included in the deal to reflect the difference in value between Simmons and Brown.

It is unclear whether there are any actual talks currently ongoing about a Ben Simmons-Jaylen Brown swap. Brown would be a good option, but he’s far from the only player that the 76ers could elect to trade Ben Simmons for. A previous report stated that the 76ers have a list of 30 players that they would accept in return for Simmons, and it’s clear that they’re not limiting their options.

Hopefully, we see the Philadelphia 76ers resolve the Ben Simmons trade soon, as the team would certainly be better with another star-level player sharing the court with Joel Embiid. It would also be good to see Ben Simmons suit up again, and perhaps we’ll see a trade happen before the deadline.
