NBA Rumors: Boston Celtics Want To Trade For Karl-Anthony Towns

2 Min Read

The Boston Celtics are expected to be among the most active teams heading into the trade deadline.

With Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum, and Jaylen Brown, they have a core capable of competing for years to come. But it’s no secret that the Celtics are in need of a big man, and Minnesota happens to have one very unhappy one on their roster.

While the possibility of the Wolves trading Towns remains low, the Celtics will be one of the first teams to answer the call if that day does come.

As much as the Celtics are one of the teams that like Capela, he’s not the only guy that they have their eyes on. You know, Karl-Anthony Towns is a name that we’ve heard quite often and right now Minnesota isn’t quite ready to engage teams in conversations about him. But make no mistake about it, he too will be a player that I think if they make him available, Boston will be among the teams that will express interest.

The Celtics are loaded with young talent and perimeter scoring threats. Adding a superstar like Towns, while costly, might push the team up another few rungs in the West. He’s considered one of the top big men in the league, averaging 26.9 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game.

It’ll be interesting to see how they re-tool their roster in the coming days.
