NBA Rumors: Warriors Could Acquire Myles Turner In Three-Way Trade With Pacers And Hawks

Steph Curry and Klay Thompson are due to return in the 2020-21 season and the Warriors will be right back at the top of the league, competing for a title.

Unfortunately, they might find more resistance on the path than they’re used to. In the West alone, they’ll have to face off against LeBron James and Anthony Davis in the Purple and Gold, Kawhi and PG13 in Clipperland, and the never-quit Denver Nuggets, who have shown us all that they can hang with the big boys.

So, with all that said, it would be in Golden State’s best interest to make some moves this offseason and acquire a player who can help plug their leaks on both ends of the floor.

In a sea of possibilities, Bleacher Report’s Jonathan Wasserman pointed out one scenario that could cover one of their biggest disadvantages: a trade for Indiana big man Myles Turner.

Golden State Warriors:Myles Turner, No. 6

Atlanta Hawks receive: Andrew Wiggins, 2021 Minnesota Timberwolves first-round pick (top-three-protected)

Indiana Pacers receive: No. 2

Sources say the Golden State Warriors aren’t in love with Anthony Edwards. They’ll be exploring plenty of different trade ideas, and this one has them moving down to No. 6 while acquiring Myles Turner to protect the rim.

Though a long shot, it’s a deal that could work for all parties involved.

The Warriors would also send Wiggins to the Atlanta Hawks, who can absorb his monster contract and use another scorer. And the Hawks get a first-round pick in a better draft for taking on the Wiggins contract.

The Golden State Warriors were rewarded with the No. 2 overall pick in the upcoming draft, which reports have indicated they’ll likely use in a trade for another veteran star.

The trade mentioned above would see them part with that pick, and young wing scorer Andrew Wiggins, for a guy in Turner with the size and skill set they have been seeking for years.

As a young, versatile 6-11 big man, Turned would thrive alongside consistent shooters and a system that values what he brings to the table.

This past season, he averaged 12.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks per game on 45% shooting.
