NBA Rumors: Lakers Sending Mixed Signals On Availability Of Kyle Kuzma

2 Min Read

With Kyle Kuzma’s struggles this season, questions about his future with the franchise have re-surfaced following his survival of the Anthony Davis trade deal.

Mostly, it’s been the inconsistency of Kuz that has been most concerning. Last night, in the Laker’s one-point loss to Orlando, Kuz scored just 4 points on 2-for-10 shooting.

Will L.A. keep their young star for the remainder of the season, or will they scratch the itch of change ahead February’s trade deadline?

According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, it seems the team is still unsure about what to do with the young forward.

“Kuzma is their best trade asset and I’m just going to say, there’s conflicting information out there about him. I’ve talked to three or four different teams who told me ‘Kyle Kuzma is available for trade. He can be had.’ There have been reports elsewhere and other people elsewhere have said that the Lakers have indicated they do not want to trade him.”

Trading a major piece at this stage is hard for any team to do. With Anthony Davis entering free agency, and LeBron James increasing in age, there isn’t a whole lot of time to tweak and adjust the roster.

There is also a sense off urgency, though, and there are doubts about whether or not Kuzma is enough to get this team to the top. I guess we’ll find out in the end.
