Miami Heat Believe Tyler Herro Is A Better Trade Asset Than Tyrese Maxey

The Heat think Tyler Herro is better than Tyrese Maxey.

The Miami Heat have been in pursuit of superstar Damian Lillard, but have not found much success thus far. Part of that is due to the Portland Trail Blazers not willing to part with Lillard for anything less than the best possible package.

At this point in time, the Trail Blazers are uninterested in the Heat’s trade packages for their superstar. It is clear that they do not value Tyler Herro as a trade asset. However, it was previously reported that the Trail Blazers would be willing to move Lillard in a package that features Tyrese Maxey, who is a similar player to Herro. NBA insider Dan Le Batard has recently claimed that the Heat believe Herro is better than Maxey, and better as a trade asset.

“I was telling you — or thought I was telling you — this is what the Heat think,” Le Batard said. “This is their opinion. … They think Maxey isn’t as good as Herro. … They think that Herro is better as a trade asset.”

“Dan Le Batard said…”

It will be interesting to see whether the Miami Heat do end up landing Damian Lillard in a trade in the future. One potential way to do that is potentially re-route Tyler Herro to a third team, with the Brooklyn Nets being a potential candidate.

During the 2022-23 regular season, Tyler Herro put up 20.1 PPG, 5.4 RPG, and 4.2 APG while shooting 37.8% from beyond the arc. He is clearly a good player, and we’ll see where he ends up in the future.

Tyrese Maxey Is Considered Untradeable By The Philadelphia 76ers

The Portland Trail Blazers clearly want Tyrese Maxey, but it doesn’t seem likely that they will get him. Previously, it was revealed that Maxey is deemed untouchable in any trade talks by the 76ers.

“My Yahoo! Sports colleague Jake Fischer reported Saturday that the 76ers are unwilling to include Tyrese Maxey in trade offers for Portland’s Damian Lillard. He took it a step further, too, and I have heard the same. Maxey is not available in any trade conversations, according to one team source, with the Sixers adamant that the speedy guard is a significant part of their future and thus not available in any scenarios.”

It remains to be seen where the Portland Trail Blazers end up trading Damian Lillard. With this report, it seems unlikely that Lillard will end up joining the Philadelphia 76ers, but anything can happen.
