NBA Rumors: James Harden And The Heat Have Mutual Trade Interest

2 Min Read

With just weeks to go until the official start of the 2020-21 season, the James Harden sweepstakes rage on.

So far, the superstar guard has yet to back down from his request, forcing the Rockets to continue to look for trade partners.

According to the Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson, the Heat continue to rise as a potential landing spot for the 8x All-Star.

“Houston Rockets All NBA guard James Harden’s interest in the Miami Heat as one of the teams that would appeal to him if he’s traded is mutual, according to a source briefed on the situation.”

Following an appearance in the NBA Finals, the Heat have emerged as major players in the Giannis sweepstakes, with reports indicating they could be the favorites if he decides to leave Milwaukee next summer.

But without any indication on what will happen in that pursuit, the Heat could look to pick up Harden instead, a 30-point per game scorer who would provide an instant edge for the Heat on offense. With him, Jimmy Butler, and Bam Adebayo, Miami could become instant favorites in the East.

The question is: are they willing to pay the price to get him? With interest on both sides, it certainly looks like the chances are good for a Harden/Heat union. But we’ll see soon enough if they’re able to close the deal.
