The Charlotte Hornets have been having a whole lot of success on the court in 2026, and they are winning off it as well. The Hornets delighted their fans by announcing on Feb. 6 that they’re launching Hugo’s Hive Menu at Spectrum Center.

The menu includes five fan-favorite concession items: a hot dog, pretzel bites, popcorn, bottled Dasani water, and soda. Each item is priced at just $2.

“Our fans are at the heart of everything we do,” said Hornets Co-Chairmen Rick Schnall and Gabe Plotkin. “We want to ensure that every fan has affordable food options for themselves and their family. The launch of Hugo’s Hive Menu is another step in our commitment to putting our fans first.”

The Hornets partnered with Spectrum Center’s food and beverage provider, Levy, to develop this pocket-friendly menu. It debuted on Feb. 9, and fans can find it in four locations at home games: 704 Kitchen, Trade Street Tacos, Belk Concourse, Uptown Grill, and Fastbreak Market.

“Delivering value to our fans is always the top priority, and as we celebrate Spectrum Center’s 20th anniversary, this initiative is a way to thank the fans who have filled this building with energy and passion for two decades,” said Hornets Sports & Entertainment President of Business Operations Shelly Cayette-Weston. “As a true community asset, Spectrum Center should be a place where everyone in our community can come together, enjoy a Hornets game, and access affordable concession options.”

The Hornets are the second team to take such a measure. Back in 2024, Phoenix Suns owner Mat Ishbia announced a fan-friendly $2 menu at Footprint Center, now called Mortgage Matchup Arena. Suns superstar Devin Booker loved the decision, and you’d imagine the Hornets players have as well. You’d wish more teams would go down this route.

Hornets fans already had plenty of motivation to go to games these days, with how the team was playing, and they have even more now. It’s remarkable how things have changed in a year.

The Hornets had gone 19-63 in 2024-25 and have nearly matched that win tally in less than two months in 2026. They have gone 15-7 in 22 games this year and are very much on the rise. The Hornets are actually tied for the best record in the NBA over the last 15 games at 12-3 and have improved to 26-29 on the season. If they keep this up, they’ll post a winning record for just the second time in the 2020s and end a nine-year playoff drought.
