Los Angeles Lakers media day took place today, giving us our first official look at LeBron James being teammates with his son Bronny. They’ve been teammates for three months and have had multiple practices since, with GM Rob Pelinka even sharing a story of what’s a practice like. Fans got a glimpse of it as LeBron and Bronny started arguing over the results of their sessions together on Spectrum Sportsnet.

Bronny James: “Alright, in all seriousness, I looked at the film and he did step out of bounds. I’m not gonna go there right now.”

LeBron James: “What do you mean you’re not gonna go there? You just went there. Did I step out of bounds?”

Bronny James: “He stepped out of bounds. All I know is I got a stop.”

LeBron James: “Tell them about the stop I got on you when you dribbled out-of-bounds.”

Bronny James: “That was a foul. He slapped my whole arm.”

LeBron James: “Did the ref call it? If the whistle didn’t blow, it’s not a foul. Man, you’re a rookie anyway!”

This camaraderie between father and son is great to see, although we have no prior context on how a father-son relationship should be conducted in the locker room. LeBron and Bronny are the only father-son duo in NBA history, so everything they do will set an example for any future players who can replicate this feat.

Lakers GM Rob Pelinka made everyone aware of the trash-talking that’s been going on between LeBron and Bronny in practice after father James made a reverse layup over his son.

“In our pickup game yesterday, Bronny got switched onto LeBron and he took him baseline and up and under off the glass. The words exchanged afterward were probably more challenging than anything else.”

LeBron even sent a message for Bronny after Pelinka revealed this story, simply saying ‘Great Defense, Better O’ to challenge his son.

LeBron Is Having A Lot Of Fun Teaming Up With Bronny

LeBron could be seen having a lot of fun at media day knowing that his son is on an NBA team alongside him. This might be a legitimate challenge for Bronny, who’s trying to live up to expectations from not only fans, teammates, and coaches, but also his father who will be in the locker room with him for 82 games this season.

LeBron is trying to create a lighthearted atmosphere in the locker room to ensure all the players are at ease, especially Bronny. He did end up roasting his son as Bronny was about to give an interview to ESPN.

“The worst interview of the day here. By far. Terrible!”

LeBron averaged 25.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 8.3 assists in a historic 21st season in the NBA last year. He’s coming in with hype to continue such magnificent production, but his son is expected to barely play on the main team.

Bronny is still a raw prospect, and while he might get to debut on opening night for a moment with LeBron, it seems he’ll have to spend time developing his craft with the team’s coaches, especially in the G League.
