The Los Angeles Lakers improved to 25-18 in this 2024-25 season following a 118-108 win over the Golden State Warriors at Chase Center on Saturday. It was the third win in a row for the Lakers and they put on an offensive clinic against the Warriors.

Anthony Davis was at his dominant best for the Lakers here, with 36 points (13-23 FG), 13 rebounds, three assists, three steals, and one block. His co-star LeBron James had a pretty good showing too, finishing with 25 points (12-25 FG), five rebounds, 12 assists, and a steal. Austin Reaves (16 points), Dalton Knecht (13 points), and Max Christie (11 points) all hit double digits for points as well and Lakers fans were thrilled by what they saw from their team.

“Anthony Davis was a freaking beast tonight,” one fan sang Davis’ praises.

“We still need a few trades but I have complete faith in JJ. Just give him the tools he needs,” one fan is completely sold on JJ Redick as the Lakers head coach.

“My hope is starting to come back in a little, keep it up,” one Lakers fan is starting to get their hopes up.

“Best team in the West,” one fan thinks the Lakers are the best team in the Western Conference.

“We own the Warriors,” one Lakers fan believes they own the Warriors now.

The Lakers certainly have gotten the better of the Warriors this season, as they are now up 2-0 in the season series. These teams met on Christmas Day prior to tonight, with LA winning 115-113. That was a thrilling affair but this one wasn’t, as the Lakers were excellent on offense.

The Lakers went a hyper-efficient 47-86 (54.7%) from the field against the Warriors. They also took care of the ball after a rough first quarter, finishing with 12 turnovers after having six in the first quarter itself.

Meanwhile, on defense, the Lakers managed to completely shut down Stephen Curry after halftime. Curry scored zero points (0-8 FG) in the second half to finish the game with 13 points (4-17 FG), one rebound, nine assists, and blocks. It was a woeful display by the two-time MVP and the Warriors aren’t going to win too many games in which he is this ineffective.

Andrew Wiggins ended up being the Warriors’ leading scorer on the night with 20 points (9-15 FG), six rebounds, three assists, and a steal. With this loss, the Warriors have now dropped to 22-23 on the season. They are under .500 for the second time this season but do take on the Utah Jazz next at Chase Center on Tuesday at 10 PM ET, so you’d expect them not to have a losing record for too much longer.

As for the Lakers, they are seven games above .500 for the first time this season after winning five of their last six. They are on a roll at this point and you’d fancy their chances of extending this good run as they take on the Charlotte Hornets next at Spectrum Center on Monday at 7 PM ET.
