Milwaukee Bucks big man Bobby Portis Jr. has been a cult hero in the city for years after he became the final piece for their championship-contention unit in 2021. He’s now turning to the city for help on social media after his house was burglarized during the Bucks vs. Cleveland Cavaliers game yesterday.
“I consider Milwaukee my home. Last night, while I was at work, my home was burglarized, and many of my prized possessions were stolen. If you have any tips or info, please send them to [email protected]. Rewards for info leading to recovery or arrests!”
Portis attaches a video to his post where he details his love for the Bucks and how deep his relationship with the city is before asking for people to share any information they get regarding his personal belongings, offering a reward as well/
“I know we have gotten off to a horrible start to start the season, but while I was at the game yesterday, I had a home invasion and they took most of my prized possessions.”

Portis is averaging 11.0 points and 7.7 rebounds to start the season as the Bucks shockingly sit bottom in the East with a 1-5 record. This is among the worst starts for the franchise in the last decade, indicating the end of an era of consistent contention by the franchise led by Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Portis joined the franchise in 2020 after a few tumultuous seasons with the Chicago Bulls and New York Knicks. Portis had taken an under-market contract after being recruited to the Bucks by Giannis, resulting in a championship run that solidified Portis’ long-term future with the franchise.
He’s averaged 13.5 points and 8.3 rebounds over his four-year stint with the Bucks.
The fans love him and he clearly loves the city, which is why he’s turning to them for help regarding his belongings. Targeting the house of an NBA player when everyone knows they’re playing at the arena seems like a planned robbery as opposed to a random robbery, so hopefully there is information to help Portis out.
This is going to be a major emotional setback for the player as the franchise hopes to rebound from a 1-5 start and return to contention.
