The Orlando Magic landed the first overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft and used it to draft Paolo Banchero. Banchero was the consensus number one overall pick, thanks to his elite ability to play basketball.

Many believe that Paolo Banchero has the talent to one day become a superstar in the NBA. However, in order for that to happen, Banchero needs to improve a few things in his arsenal. One of them being his three-point shooting.

In the month of February, the Orlando Magic star attempted 33 three-point shots and ended up making just one of them. In simple terms, he shot just 3% from deep. He played a total of 11 games in the month and averaged 16.6 PPG, 7.5 RPG, and 3.3 APG.

While his other stats are certainly noteworthy, his abysmal three-point shooting was certainly an eye-opener. Hopefully, he can improve on that moving forward.

Paolo Banchero Is Still The Favorite To Win The Rookie Of The Year Award

Paolo Banchero can certainly improve his three-point shooting, and it’s interesting to see that even without having a great three-point shot, he is still the favorite to win the 2023 NBA Rookie Of The Year award.

Banchero has managed to average stunning numbers this season despite missing a few games earlier due to an injury. To be precise, Banchero is currently averaging 19.7 PPG, 6.6 RPG, and 3.6 APG.

But shooting seems to be a season-long concern for Banchero. He is shooting 41.9% from the field and 27.1% from deep for the season. As we mentioned earlier, once Banchero fixes that, he has an amazing career in the NBA waiting for him.

After all, even in his rookie season, there have been times when the 20-year-old has essentially played like a veteran. It will be interesting to see what Banchero has in store for fans as he spends more time in the NBA.
