Draymond Green is busy ruffling feathers on Twitter once again after saying that his 2017 Warriors team with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Andre Iguodala, and Kevin Durant would beat the iconic 1998 Chicago Bulls by double digits and beat the 1998 Utah Jazz by 40 points.

The argument has spilled over to different forums on Twitter, with fans and analysts trying to break down Draymond’s comments. Someone who was on the court to play against some of the greatest teams of the last two decades, Richard Jefferson, has chimed in with his opinion.

R-Jeff played in multiple NBA Finals, winning a championship against the 2016 Warriors as part of the legendary Cavaliers squad that overcame a 3-1 Finals deficit. He also played against the Shaq-Kobe Lakers in 2002 as part of the Jason Kidd-led New Jersey Nets. Jefferson told Draymond that, from his experience, the 17 Warriors were only the second-best team he had ever played against.

Considering the argument is about the greatest team of all time, the Shaq-Kobe Lakers should be in contention for their absolute dominance over the league during their heyday. However, we don’t know if Richard is talking about them. He could also be talking about the many iterations of the Spurs that he faced, including the ones that beat his Nets in the 2003 Finals.

The ’17 Warriors, on paper, look absolutely terrifying considering the talent they had. Their roster was absolutely stacked and had two season MVP winners in Steph and KD, a DPOY in Draymond, a former Finals MVP winner in Andre Iguodala, and one of the greatest shooters ever in Klay Thompson.

A lot of those scary aspects can be applied to the ’98 Bulls or the ’02 Lakers as well. We are splitting hairs amongst the greatest teams of all time, but R-Jeff has looked back on his career experiences and said the Warriors are second-best from his perspective.
