Russell Westbrook Crip Walked On The Court During Lakers vs. Cavaliers Showdown

3 Min Read

After a terrible ending to the Los Angeles Lakers-Oklahoma City Thunder game on Wednesday, Russell Westbrook bounced back last Friday, dropping 19 points on the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Even though the Cavs put up a good fight, the Lakers were too much to bear for the young team. They succumbed in the 4th quarter, 25-16, which earned the Lakers a 113-101 win to balance their record with three wins and three losses.

Westbrook showed he’s enjoying his time in Los Angeles, and during the game, he had fun with the Staples Center’s DJ and fans. After restarting the match, Brodie got the ball and did the ‘crip walk’ while coming up the court.

While G’d Up by Tha Eastsidaz was playing in the arena, the 2017 MVP crip walked until he got past half-court. He even did a little dance before the referees stopped the action.

In the end, Russ and his Lakers won the game, with LeBron James scoring 26 points. Westbrook added 19 with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The veteran point guard is trying to find his spot on this team, and things started to look better for them.

“Everything is strictly a blessing and I don’t take nothing for granted. I give all the thanks to the man above for allowing me to be in this situation. In this arena around so many great people. It was a great win and we took care of home court and I’m happy we won,” said Westbrook after the game, via Total Pro Sports

The Lakers will now face the Houston Rockets, trying to finish the night with a record above .500 for the first time this season. Their Big 3 will be ready to face a young Rockets team with No. 2 overall pick Jalen Green leading the way.

Hopefully, this can be the beginning of something good for the purple and gold. Russ is seemingly having fun in Los Angeles and that only means good news for the Lakers Nation.
