Shannon Sharpe Says Russell Westbrook Is The NBA’s Tony Romo: “He Picks The Worst Time In The Game To Have A Turnover.”

Just like the rest of Lakers fans, Shannon Sharpe wasn’t happy with Russell Westbrook’s decision at the end of the Los Angeles Lakers-Oklahoma City Thunder game on Thursday night.

Russ couldn’t get the job done for the purple and gold, turning the ball over and missing big chances to take his team to the next level, costing the Lakers the second loss of the season against the young Thunder squad.

His performances earned Westbrook a lot of criticism from fans, and Sharpe was one of those ready to call him out for missing the chance to tie the game. On Friday’s edition of FS1’s Undisputed, the former NFL player-turned-analyst spoke about this, comparing Westbrook to Tony Romo, a talented NFL quarterback who constantly turned the ball over in crunch time.

“Russ, this is what you’re gonna get from Russ. You’re gonna get a guy that’s very inefficient. You know what? Russell Westbrook reminds me of Tony Romo. Tony Romo picks the very worst time in the game to have a turnover.”

“Russ picked a very bad time to have his first turnover. And I don’t think anybody in the world –I would have bet everything I own that if Russ pulled with that 3 to tie the game, that ball was not going in.”

Westbrook hasn’t found his touch with the Lakers so far. After being traded to Los Angeles from Washington, the veteran point guard has struggled to find his best form, leaving his team helpless against big rivals.

The Thunder have won only two games this campaign and both were wins against the Lakers, recovering from double-digit deficits, with Westbrook starring in controversial moments.

The situation doesn’t look good for the Lakers and they need to find a solution to these issues. If they want to compete for the title, the purple and gold will need more than they’ve already shown.
