Skip Bayless On LeBron James: “This Is Not Going To Be His Year…”

2 Min Read

Even in his 18th season, LeBron James finds himself as one of the NBA’s top superstars. Freshly removed from his 4th Championship victory, there is a lot of belief that “King” James is on the verge of winning another, even despite the many challenges this year has brought.

In fact, LeBron himself recently issued a warning of sorts to his competitors, hinting that he was about to tear up the league in his return.

Still, it seems that not everyone is fully bought-in to a James success story this year. On Undisputed, FOX Sports analyst Skip Bayless denied the notion that 2021 will be able to defend his crown.

“LeBron wants to put the whole NBA on notice: ‘The sheriff and his deputy are about to be back to restore order in this league!’ It’s mostly because there’s so much attention being paid to the Brooklyn Nets,” Bayless said.

Obviously, the Lakers aren’t going to have an easy time repeating as Champions. Moving past the injuries to LeBron and Antony Davis, they have to compete in a bitter and unforgiving Western Conference, that includes the Jazz, Clippers, Nuggets, Suns, and Blazers.

If they can make it to the Finals, they will likely be greeted by the Brooklyn Nets, who have one of the most stacked and powerful rosters in the modern era of basketball.

So, in the end, Skip could certainly be right. But how many times before has LeBron proved us wrong?
