Stephen A. Smith is tired of Klay Thompson not getting the respect he deserves in the NBA. The shooting guard is one of the coolest guys out there, always bringing positiveness for fans, giving valuable pieces of advice.

Even after missing the last two NBA seasons, fans have shown no love for Klay, criticizing him for no apparent reason. Smith has had enough of that, as he came in Thompson’s defense recently, calling out fans for not respecting a player who has done nothing wrong.

Talking with 95.7 FM, Smith explained what makes Klay unique and why he should be more respected than he is.

“You’re talking about Klay Thompson,” said the ESPN analyst. “I’m so sick of the lack of love this guy gets. This guy is one of the top five shooters in the history of basketball. You can’t find five shooters that you can definitively say is a better than Klay Thompson.”

Stephen Curry often steals the spotlight on the Golden State Warriors, but Klay has been a critical piece in the Dubs’ success from 2015 through 2019. The shooting guard always showed off his skills, having incredible performances in the playoff, helping his team win games and series.

It’s unclear why players like Curry and Thompson get so much hate. They changed the game of basketball, became the Splash Brothers, bringing a show to every fan in the league.

It is so fun to watch them, but certain people can’t stop throwing shade at them. Next season, Thompson, Curry, and co. will try to bounce back and lead the Warriors to the promised land.
