Stephen Curry has put on a show in his last two outings at Golden 1 Center against the Sacramento Kings, and he hilariously explained why he dominates at the arena.

“No, they’ve got great popcorn, though,” Curry said when asked if it was his favorite arena. “So, shout-out to them for making me feel good before the game. I’ve got a big bucket right here. It makes me happy, so it might carry over to the court.”

Curry can probably expect to get some pretty bad-tasting popcorn the next time he plays in Sacramento, which will be on November 28. The Kings and their fans are probably sick of the 35-year-old at this point.

Curry had 41 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals in the game in Sacramento on Friday night, as the Golden State Warriors won 122-114. He hit the dagger shot as well and then proceeded to do the “night-night” celebration.

The two-time MVP also famously scored 50 points in the Warriors’ Game 7 win on the road over the Kings in the 2023 playoffs and is making a habit of breaking their fans’ hearts.

Stephen Curry Doesn’t Think Warriors-Kings Is A Rivalry

The close proximity of these teams and some of the intense clashes on the court between them over the last year have led to many calling it a rivalry. Curry, however, isn’t going there just yet.

“I wouldn’t call it a rivalry,” Curry said. “But it’s a great familiarity of knowing a team, how many times we’ve played them over the last two years, preseason, four times in the regular season, and obviously seven games in the playoffs last year. We’ve already played them three times this year, so you get to know them.

These teams did play each other twice in the preseason too, with the Warriors winning both games. It might not be a rivalry just yet, considering the Kings only became a playoff team last year, but Curry’s response might change if they end up meeting in the postseason again in 2024.

You’d love to see them clash in the playoffs again, as it was an incredibly fun series to watch. The outcome could end up being different, but if Curry continues to dominate in Sacramento, you wouldn’t love the Kings’ chances of winning.

Draymond Green Praised Stephen Curry After The Game Against The Kings

The Warriors struggled on the road last season, so to get a win in Sacramento in their first road game of the 2023-24 campaign would have been huge. They also came out on top despite Draymond Green being out with an injury.

He watched on in awe as the nine-time All-Star dominated, and Draymond said Curry is a top-five player of all time, but he isn’t fifth. There is obviously a lot of bias involved here, as the two men have grown very close in their time as teammates. Earlier, Green also stated that Curry has surpassed Magic Johnson, and is the greatest point guard of all time.

Both those claims are a bit of a stretch at this point, as Curry needs to do more for that. He has had an incredible career with four championships, a finals MVP, and two MVPs, but Magic still has a greater resume than him. I wouldn’t put it past Curry to win more by the time he’s done, but as of now, he isn’t a top-four player of all time or the greatest point guard ever.
