A couple of teenagers recently managed to sneak into the construction site of the Intuit Dome, the Los Angeles Clippers’ new $2 billion arena in Inglewood, California. The teenagers uploaded a video of their adventure on TikTok with the title “Sneaking into Clippers Stadium,” and it has gone viral.

They appear to have gotten inside thanks to a ladder of some sort. The teens then roamed around the empty hallways, after which they took to the court, where they attempted some shots.

One of them was wearing Los Angeles Lakers pants and he tried to dunk by jumping on what seemed like a bucket. He then used a fire extinguisher as well, spraying it toward the basket. After all that, the two teens went up to the roof, too.

This is not the first time these teens have pulled off such an act. Their TikTok page, shawty_grandmaa, has videos of them sneaking into SoFi Stadium and Dodger Stadium as well. It’s sad to see what individuals will do just for some internet clout and to go viral.

Actions such as these should never be encouraged. Not only is it flat-out wrong to trespass, but it’s also a big risk to go into a construction site, especially at night. Sure, nothing happened to these teens, but they could have lost their lives with one misstep.

Inglewood’s Mayor Spoke On The Matter

These teenagers have somehow gotten away with sneaking into arenas in the past, but it would appear they might not be able to do it again. With the video going viral, it has come to the attention of Inglewood Mayor James E. Butts. Fox 11 Los Angeles’ coverage of this incident featured comments from Butts, who isn’t taking this lightly.

“We are going to use the video evidence that they have been kind enough to post to identify them,” Butts said.

The Mayor also added that security will be beefed up.

“What’s going to happen is they’re going to increase the off-construction hour security,” Butts stated. “They’re going to bump that up.”

Butts had stern words for the teens and for anyone else who might be inspired by them as well.

“It will be very clear to these young men — and to people who are TikTok followers — that you have a moment of TikTok greatness followed by a little bit of misery. And so we don’t play around with these things,” Butts told ABC 7.

With the two of them being so keen to show their faces in the video, identifying them isn’t too difficult. The kids are undoubtedly in the wrong here, but some responsibility lies on their parents’ feet as well. They are either completely oblivious that something like this has been going on or have just let it happen.

As for when the Intuit Dome is actually scheduled to open, it’s in August 2024. The Clippers will play home games at the arena from the 2024-25 season, and it is also set to host the 2026 All-Star Game.
