The Los Angeles Clippers lost the lead in the first-round series after Kevin Durant and Devin Booker led the Phoenix Suns to a 123-109 win in Game 2.
But the series is far from over. Sure, the Clippers are the underdogs vs. the Big 4 of the Suns, but head coach Tyronn Lue is positive that his team can still win register four wins against them.
“I feel good. I feel good with where we’re at,” Lue said after the Game 2 loss. “Our guys are gonna keep competing and keep scrapping. We think we can win this series. That’s the biggest thing. One-hundred percent of the battle is believing. We believe we can do it. I think [we need to] clean up some things a little different. Like I said, I like where we’re at, I like what we did tonight.”

Of course, having a 2-0 lead against the Suns would have been nice for the Clippers. But the series is currently tied at 1-1 heading to Los Angeles.
Playing in front of the home crowd will somewhat help the team in overcoming the absence of Paul George from the roster. George is expected to miss the entire first-round series vs. the Suns due to a right knee injury.
Is Tyronn Lue The Best Coach In The NBA?
Winning Game 1 against the Suns skyrocketed Tyronn Lue’s credibility as a head coach in the NBA. Lue has previously led the Cleveland Cavaliers to the 2016 NBA Championship.
However, NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith hailed Lue as the best coach in the league after the Game 1 win over the Suns.
“There’s no debating that Ty Lue might be the best coach in all of basketball.”
Well, Lue is right up there. After all, apart from making the right strategic decision during games, he knows how to motivate his players as well.
Keeping that in mind, the Clippers are still not out of the race to advance to the second round of the 2023 playoffs.
