The Phoenix Suns and Denver Nuggets are battling over a 3-2 series advantage in the second round, but tensions are running high in the game.

As the Suns trailed by almost 20 points in the third quarter, Kevin Durant shoved both Bruce Brown and Nikola Jokic for trying to listen in on their team huddle, which led to KD being awarded a technical foul.

Given we saw both Brown and Jokic get pushed, it’s clear that Jokic did oversell the shove to get the referees involved. This is the kind of gamesmanship that people have criticized players like Chris Paul for in the past. Ultimately, every advantage counts, and Jokic got it in his favor to play mind games and restrict a fourth-quarter comeback.

Denver Looking To Close This Out

The Nuggets have a 20-point lead in the fourth quarter and have likely sealed this win for a 3-2 series advantage. They’ve protected home court and will look to seal the series in Phoenix during Game 6. Devin Booker had his first bad game of the players, shooting inefficiently and struggling to get past the Denver defense. The same applies to Kevin Durant.

The Suns are far too potent with that duo for anyone to count them out in Game 6. The home team is yet to lose a game in this series, so the Nuggets will have to beat them in Phoenix to prove their mettle as the best team in the West.

The winner of this series is likely going up against the Los Angeles Lakers in the Conference Finals unless LA blows a 3-1 lead to the Golden State Warriors.
