Stephen Curry is getting into the alcohol business, launching his own bourbon brand called Gentleman’s Cut Kentucky Straight, which will be available across the world soon.

“Celebrations take on many different forms, from intimate gatherings to major milestones, and at the center of each memorable moment is a spirit rooted in history and tradition,” Curry shared in a statement.

“I’m proud to have helped carefully craft a new signature Kentucky Straight Bourbon, Gentleman’s Cut. This rich, complex, and bold bourbon is the perfect offering to commemorate life’s great occasions and will be part of a raised-glass toasting moment in the lives of my fans, friends, and family.”

The release provided by Gentleman’s Cut said the four-time NBA champion was “intimately” involved with the whole process and even learned about the making of the whiskey. Per Food & Wine, a 750 ml bottle is priced up to $79.99 with the final retail price left to the retailers.

Stephen Curry Joins The Big-Name List Of NBA Stars Who Have Forayed Into The Alcohol Business

With his latest venture, the Golden State Warriors superstar now joins five other big names who have been involved in the alcohol business.

Former Houston Rockets star Yao Ming has a family-owned winery called Yao Family Wines, while Scottie Pippen is in the bourbon business as well. His ‘Digit’ whiskey was formed in collaboration with renowned winemaker Dave Phinney that “focuses on distinguished and mature bourbon whiskey” in 2021.

Dwyane Wade comes in as well with ‘Wade Cellars’, his own winery brand, while Michael Jordan wasn’t far away with his Cincoro Tequila. Finally, LeBron James’ Lobos in 2022 completes the list of NBA athletes in the business.

Clearly, alcohol investment is a smart way to go, given these big stars have made some smart choices. It remains to be seen how Curry’s bourbon is as good as his three-pointers.
