The Houston Rockets are keen and determined to do whatever it takes to win an NBA Championship, and Daryl Morey has shown no signs of hesitation to pull the trigger to try and make his team better.

And now that the Golden State Warriors aren’t supposed to be a threat for them ahead of next season, they might as well try and do what they did when Michael Jordan first retired and dominate the league.

However, people still don’t consider them as a legit threat in the Western Conference with the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers drawing most of the attention, but today, we’re going to let you know about the 3 reasons why they could be the league’s biggest surprise:

James Harden On Travel Criticism: 'Let Haters Keep Talking'

James Harden wasn’t even in attendance of the league’s award show and it truly showed his discomfort with the fact that Giannis Antetokounmpo was going to win the MVP despite his historic season.

Harden has been playing better and better as years go by and this season he’ll definitely have a chip on his shoulder, so we can expect him to enter human-torch mode and break the records he established this year.

2. Warriors Without Kevin Durant And Klay Thompson

Ok, the Lakers and Clippers are better teams – at least in the paper – than the Houston Rockets, but this team already proved that they can beat everybody in the league, minus the Golden State Warriors.

Now that Kevin Durant and DeMarcus Cousins aren’t at the Bay and Klay Thompson will be on the shelf for most of the season, the Rockets should really match up pretty well against them and everybody else in the league.

1. Russell Westbrook And James Harden

They built a great rapport from his time at Oklahoma and Westbrook could really be a major upgrade over an aging and often-injured Chris Paul. Also, he’s definitely not going to let Harden take a break in the defensive end of the floor.
