The All-“We Swear We Were Hacked” Team

Nothing escapes the eyes of the internet nowadays. There’s just nothing we or anybody can do to prevent people from screenshotting and remembering every single one of our mistakes.

  • Point Guard – Jamal Murray
  • Shooting Guard – D’Angelo Russell
  • Small Forward – Kevin Durant
  • Power Forward – Draymond Green
  • Center – Dwight Howard

That’s why celebrities must be extremely cautious about what they share on social media. That’s why most celebrities also use ‘burner’ or secret accounts to try and have a regular life like most of us.

However, there have been a handful of times when their security protocols have been insufficient. And, either because they mess up or because someone took control of their accounts, they end up claiming they’ve been hacked.

Whether if that’s true or not, it’s not for up to decide, but actually, you could put together quite a nice All-“We Swear We Were Hacked” Team:

Point Guard – Jamal Murray

(via ‪ Sports Gossip)

Jamal Murray is the most recent addition to this squad, as just a couple of days ago his Instagram account was allegedly compromised late at night for a couple of minutes. Sadly, this time he wasn’t the lone victim of these vicious hackers.

Someone took control of his Instagram account and posted a series of NSFW stories of him and his girlfriend sharing an intimate moment. Needless to say, he quickly deleted the stories and claimed to be hacked, while his girlfriend’s account was suspended.

Shooting Guard – D’Angelo Russell

D’Angelo Russell’s first year in the league was pretty rough. He wasn’t getting enough playing time and was struggling to prove he was the Laker’s newest hope. Moreover, he then was deemed a snitch by the rest of his colleagues.

Thing is, Russell recorded a conversation between him and Nick Young, who had admitted to have repeatedly cheated on his then-girlfriend Iggy Azalea. Said video was leaked on Twitter and Russell claimed it was supposed to be just a prank that got out of hand. Obviously, he became the least-favorite player in the locker room.

Small Forward – Kevin Durant

Kevin Durant had done a good job keeping his image clean before becoming one of the league’s most hated villains in 2016. However, a couple of years before leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder, fans around the world had the first glimpse of Durant’s true colors.

Durant mistakenly tweeted a pic of himself smoking right in the middle of the NBA season. While it wasn’t clear if he was smoking a joint or a hookah, it surely became viral and people started to speculate about it.

Now, it’s well known that Durant is a fan of using burner accounts to defend himself on social media, while he’s also an advocate for marijuana use, so this pic isn’t a big deal right now.

Power Forward – Draymond Green

Draymond Green is not the one to back away from controversy. However, his first response when an NSFW pic of him was posted on his Snapchat account back in 2016, he did what every single celebrity would’ve done on his place: claim he was hacked.

However, Green was with Team USA at that time due to the Olympics, so eventually, he had no choice but to admit that he had ‘hit the wrong button’ and the pic was intended to be sent, not posted. Not much of a defense for a Defensive Player of the Year, but we’ll take the honesty.

Center – Dwight Howard

(via Bleacher Report)

Dwight Howard has been closely tied with several controversies over the past couple of years. First, some pics of him and a teenager were leaked, so people started wondering if he was somehow involved with her, which was obviously a felony.

That story eventually disappeared, but then Masin Elije, a transexual; leaked some pics with alleged conversations between him and Howard, claiming they had a ‘toxic relationship’.

Later on, that story was proven to be fake, but it was still around the league for a couple of days. Neither of these stories was a product of hacking, but they still took a big toll on his public persona.
