The 2024 Team USA lineup is particularly stacked this year and includes some of the most well-established names in the game. In a now-viral video, many of them were asked to pick which player they were the most excited to share the court with this summer, including Stephen Curry who said LeBron James.

“Is there one player that you’re most excited to get to play with?” Steph Curry: “[LeBron James].”
Devin Booker: “Steph.”
Anthony Edwards: “Kevin Durant.”
Anthony Davis: “Steph.”

As the guy who changed the game and brought fame to an entire franchise, it’s no surprise that players are excited to play with Stephen Curry. Both Devin Booker and Anthony Davis mentioned the 2x MVP as their pick while Anthony Edwards chose Kevin Durant, who he has said before is his favorite player ever.

Team USA has always been the site of the greatest players in the game. The height of their run was the legendary Dream Team which included 6x champion Michael Jordan and 3x MVP Magic Johnson. In recent years, the roster has fallen off due to a lack of star participation and concern reached an all-time high when they placed fourth in the FIBA World Cup last year.

For this roster, however, Team USA responded by recruiting the best of the best in the game, including legends like LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Joel Embiid, Jayson Tatum, Anthony Davis, and Devin Booker, among others. The star power is higher than ever and even for a guy like Curry, he can look forward to being teammates with the King.

As two of the best players in modern NBA history, in opposite Conferences, Curry and James often clashed during their peak and they’ve typically always been on opposing sides. As the top reps for Team USA this summer, they are finally on the court as allies and Steph is loving every moment.

While they have had the opportunity to play together before, neither LeBron nor Curry has actually made it happen and it’s always just been a long-shot dream for the fans. This summer is not quite the union some were going for but they are both expected to start to represent Team USA all summer long. Clearly, it’s a moment everyone is excited for.

After trading out Kawhi for Derrick White, there’s some concern that Team USA may not have that seamless chemistry to start the tournament but the sheer talent may be enough for them to pull through anyway, even against teams like France who have Victor Wembanyama and Rudy Gobert.

Only time will tell if Team USA can win the gold but the stars are loving the journey so far and they look more than ready to prove their place at the top of the sport. With elite talent at every position and a steady, experienced hand guiding the way,
