“Yes. It’s great. … I didn’t know what I was gonna do (after the divorce). I thought about going to the West Coast. I’m like, ‘Nah, I’m not gonna follow my sons. I’m going to stick it out. Hang here…’ And then I had friends who introduced me to my wife now. I’d met her a couple of times. We talked on the phone for a month before I laid eyes on her. I’m like: ‘Oh, I like this girl, man. What’s going on here?’ I wasn’t going to get married again. But life is great right now. It couldn’t be better. For me, I’m at a great place in my life. My home situation is sound. My kids and their families are doing great. They’re happy for me. I’m happy for them. So life’s good.”

Dell also revealed his new wife’s name is Nicki and that they have been married for the last year.

Sonya And Dell Curry Got Divorced In 2021

After raising three children together and watching two of them make it to the NBA, Sonya and Dell Curry ended a nearly 30-year-long relationship when Sonya filed for divorce in 2021. The couple issued a joint statement then.

“After exploring a trial separation over the past year and much thoughtful consideration, we have decided to end our marriage. As this comes with a great deal of sadness, our focus and desire is for our family’s continued happiness. We are so thankful for all the many blessings and successes! We stay committed to and supportive of our children and grandchildren and will remain on connected paths. We ask that our privacy be respected and pray for our family as we move forward.”

It initially seemed the divorce wasn’t amicable, with Dell accusing Sonya of cheating on him with former NFL player Steven Johnson.

In the docs, Dell says Sonya “began her extramarital affair with Mr. Johnson during the marriage and prior to the date of separation, and she lied to [Dell] each time she cheated on him. For her part, Sonya said in responding documents that she is NOT living with Johnson — claiming she’s currently living on her own because Dell will not allow her to live at their home.”

Sonya claims the relationship with Johnson started after they agreed to separate in 2020. She also claimed that Dell had various affairs over the course of their marriage that family and close friends could verify.

Dell Curry Was A Bucket In His Prime

Even though he’s had a rough go on the personal front in recent seasons, it seems Dell is happy in his new relationship.

The Charlotte Hornets legend was a terror on the court, averaging 11.7 points and 2.4 rebounds for his career. He is known for his decade-long stint with the Hornets, but he also played for the Raptors, Bucks, Cavaliers, and Jazz. He retired as the franchise leader in points scored for the Hornets, a record that has since been taken by Kemba Walker.

Curry foreshadowed what his bloodline would do to the NBA as one of the best shooters of his era. One of his sons is one of the most efficient three-point shooters the league has ever seen with Seth, while the other is almost unanimously regarded as the greatest shooter ever with Steph.
