  • Shaquille O’Neal shared a video of a man trying to jump over a car and failing horribly
  • Kobe Bryant did the same stunt for a Nike commercial in 2008, where he seemingly jumped over a moving car
  • The man in Shaquille O’Neal’s video ended up getting hit by a car at a high speed

Shaquille O’Neal’s social media presence is a bit hard to explain. While the big man often posts about basketball-related topics, he shares random videos and content he finds funny or thought-provoking too.

Shaquille O’Neal posted a story on Instagram that included a reel that is a bit hard to understand.

Shaq reel

The reel shows a man reacting to a video clip. In the clip, a man tries to take a running start and jump over a moving car that is coming right at him. Unfortunately, the man fails and ends up getting hit head-on by a moving car.

The stunt in itself is incredibly dangerous and hopefully, the man in question was not injured seriously. But this type of content often goes viral on social media, and this particular clip is a reminder of something Shaq’s former superstar teammate once did.

Kobe Bryant Jumped Over A Car In A 2008 Nike Commercial While Promoting His New Sneakers

Kobe Bryant was one of Nike’s biggest names during his career, and in the late 2000s, was arguably the face of the NBA. He made a Nike commercial at the time that showed him jumping over an oncoming Aston Martin.

After the commercial was released, many people wanted to try doing the same thing. However, Kobe Bryant repeated time and time during the commercial that this shouldn’t be tried by anyone at home.

It’s hard to say if that person’s attempt was an homage to what Kobe Bryant did, but the stunt remains the same. There is some debate as to whether Kobe Bryant himself actually made the jump or if it was edited, too, so that’s another thing to remember.

In any case, attempting to do something like that is a bad idea, no matter who someone is. Life is precious, and people can get seriously injured attempting stunts like this. That video Shaquille O’Neal shared is hopefully the last one of its kind.

Shaquille O’Neal Has A History Of Sharing Random And Wild Ideas

Shaquille O’Neal has accomplished everything in his NBA career, and he is a businessman worth $400 million besides. There is nothing in his life that O’Neal hasn’t excelled at, the man even has a doctorate.

And now he has achieved so much, Shaquille O’Neal feels no qualms about sharing the most random things. Like the time he explained his wild conspiracy theory about the moon on Inside the NBA

“I have a new theory. There’s more than one moon. Just let me tell you my theory. The other day I was ridin’, and the moon was on the left. I kept going straight, making no lefts, and about 20 minutes later, the moon was behind me.

“Nah, there’s more than one moon. And in another 45 seconds, the moon was on my right. There’s more than one moon.”

That’s not the only time the legendary big man has indulged in sharing random things. Shaquille O’Neal posted a video on Instagram showing a magician teleporting people in the middle of a plaza.

Shaquille O’Neal has become a premium source of entertainment and fans who follow him will surely continue to be exposed to content they cannot even imagine in their wildest dreams.
