Stephen Curry left the sports world in awe of him with a spectacular showing at the American Century Celebrity golf tournament.

The Golden State Warriors superstar clinched his first ACC title right at the death on the 18th hole with an eagle. It took his score to 75, two ahead of former tennis player Mardy Fish, who finished second with 73. After Curry’s victory, NFL legend Rob Gronkowski wondered if he was actually better than some professional golfers.

“Is Stephen Curry better then some professional golfers?? Could he go pro in golf if he focused on golf like basketball?? Every golf shot I have seen by him has just been amazing. Hole in ones, draining long putts…what’s your thoughts??”

Fans ended up being quite split on this topic as they responded to Gronkowski.

One doesn’t think Curry would even be the best golfer at most of the country clubs.

He wouldn’t even be the best golfer at majority of the country clubs around the United States and he knows this

A fan thinks Curry just has a great feel and touch with golf and basketball.

Yes he has elite feel and touch with golf and basketball some of that can’t be taught it’s natural talent

— Eric (@conwayeric) July 16, 2023

Curry is not even close to being as good as professional golfers, as per one fan.

No and honestly, it’s not even close.

Another fan stated that Curry isn’t better than the pros, but he could have possibly become a professional if he just focused on golf.

Is he better than some pros? No
Could he have been a golf pro if he just focused on golf? Maybe

A fan thinks Curry would be a top contender in golf if he focused on the sport.

I have little doubt that if Steph focused on golf he could be a top contender there as well. The man is talented.

It’s really hard to say that Curry is better right now than professional golfers who have dedicated their entire lives to the game. It’s no easy feat to get into the professional circuit and even the ones near the bottom there would be very good.

Steph certainly has some talent and perhaps if he had chosen to become a golfer at a young age, maybe he could have become a professional. He hit an incredible hole-in-one shot in the tournament and the putt that clinched the win for him was from 20 odd feet out. You can’t do those things without talent, but it takes more than that to get to the professional level.

Stephen Curry Had A Hilarious Response When Asked If He’d Retire From Basketball To Focus On Golf

Curry was in very high spirits following this win, stating that it was an unbelievable week that he’d never forget. When a reporter asked him in jest if he was going to retire from basketball now to pursue a golf career, he had a hilarious response.

“Have y’all seen those CBA terms in the NBA? Life is good in the league, so I’ll be alright,” Curry said.

When you’re the highest-paid player in the NBA for this upcoming season at $51.9 million, life is indeed very good. While Curry certainly enjoys playing golf, basketball has always been his top priority and he’d desperately want to win his fifth championship next season.
