Point guard Stephen Curry is well-known for his exploits on the basketball court, but he is clearly someone that is proficient at many sports. Aside from his ability at basketball, he is also very good at golfing.

Recently, we saw Stephen Curry win the American Century Championship, a golf tournament for celebrities. After winning, Stephen Curry posted a Tweet sharing his reaction, noting that he “can’t wait” to play in the tournament once again.

“Dream come true! Championship flow in Tahoe. An unbelievable week I’ll never forget…can’t wait to run it back!”

It remains to be seen if Stephen Curry will win the next ACC championship. However, he is clearly good enough to win this iteration of it, even hitting an amazing hole-in-one shot during the tournament. This is clearly not the last we’ve seen of Stephen Curry in the golf world, and we’ll see what he accomplishes in that realm.

NBA Shooting Skill Can Translate To Golf

There is no doubt that golf is a good sport for NBA players to pick up, and that is partly due to shooting skills helping with golf. Once, J. R. Smith explained how his shooting ability helps him in golf.

“Being a shooter, my touch [translates to golf]. You have to be able to recreate some of the same shots over and over and over again. And have different shots in your arsenal.”

“For me, I liked to shoot off balance,” he said. “So I used to lean left, right, forward, back, off one leg. Left leg, right leg. And in golf we got sidehill, downhill, uphill. So many different ways to play the shots. For me it just makes it easier.”

It is clear that a lot of NBA players love trying their hands at golf, and hopefully, we see even more of them pick it up in the future. Golf can certainly get more exposure if popular NBA players are playing in tournaments and promoting the sport through their own platforms. We will see whether there can be more intersections between the NBA and golf going forward.
