The Brooklyn Nets traded away Kevin Durant to the Phoenix Suns ahead of the 2023 trade deadline, with forward Cam Johnson being one of the primary pieces to come back in return. Johnson is a quality 3 and D player, and it seems as though the Nets have valued him as such.

A recent report from Adrian Wojnarowski revealed that Cam Johnson has agreed on a four-year, $108 million deal with the Brooklyn Nets. He was a restricted free agent, but it seems as though the Brooklyn Nets did not want to wait for him to get a deal from another team.

There is no doubt that this was a good move for the Brooklyn Nets. The team managed to remain competitive after trading away Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant finishing the regular season as the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference. Cam Johnson played a huge part in that happening, and we’ll see how he continues to do as a focal point of the team’s offense.

After the trade to the Brooklyn Nets, Cam Johnson averaged 16.6 PPG, 4.8 RPG, and 2.1 APG while shooting 37.2% from the 3PT range on 6.2 attempts. He clearly has untapped potential, and he could have a career year next season.
