The 2023 NBA Draft is already working the trade magic as the No. 7 draft pick Bilal Coulibaly has been traded to the Washington Wizards, who had the No. 8 pick in the draft. The teams will likely swap picks, with the Pacers expected to get Jarace Walker with their pick.

Coulibaly has high potential and played in France as Victor Wembanyama‘s teammate on the Metropolitans 92. He projects to be a talented and versatile forward that could grow into a big role on a rebuilding Wizards franchise.

Bilal Coulibaly is 6’8″ tall and has a 7’2″ wingspan. The 18-year-old averaged 5.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.2 blocks per game in 18.1 minutes per game for the Metropolitans 92. He was an efficient scorer, shooting 53.2% from the field and 45.2% from three-point range. His 59.5% from the free-throw line is a major concern and he needs to work on the same.

An Exciting 2023 NBA Draft

We have had eight picks called in already, with no major surprises coming so far. Victor Wembanyama went to the Spurs, Brandon Miller went to the Hornets, and Scoot Henderson went to the Blazers in an expected top-three. Amen Thompson went No. 4 to the Rockets, as many predicted, but Ausar Thompson going No. 5 to the Pistons was a pleasant surprise for many.

Anthony Black went No. 6 to the Orlando Magic before the No. 7 and 8 swap between the Pacers and Wizards that sent Coulibaly to Washington and Jarace Walker to the Indiana Pacers.

More lottery picks are coming ahead, and fans are waiting with bated breath to see what happens next.
