Even though Chris Paul is no longer the All-Star level player that he once was, there’s no doubt that he is still good enough to contribute to a contender. His passing, game knowledge, and midrange scoring are all useful, especially when it comes to the postseason.
Recently, we saw Chris Paul traded to the Golden State Warriors in a trade that sent Jordan Poole to the Washington Wizards. Though some have speculated that the Warriors would move Chris Paul in another deal, it seems as though the team is planning to keep him and make a championship run with him.
“Golden State will not waive Chris Paul and is looking forward to partnering with the star to make a championship run, league sources tell NBA on TNT, Bleacher Report.”

It is quite likely that Chris Paul will play the sixth-man role backing up Stephen Curry, and it’ll be interesting to see how he does coming off the bench. The Warriors are clearly hoping that Paul is a player who can run the offense for the bench unit.
This season, Chris Paul averaged 13.9 PPG, 4.3 RPG, and 8.9 APG for the Phoenix Suns. There’s no doubt that he is still a quality floor general, and he’ll have a legitimate chance to win the championship with the Warriors next season.
The Warriors Still Need To Re-Sign Draymond Green To Remain A Contender
Though getting Chris Paul could end up being solid for the Golden State Warriors, the team still needs to make some other moves to remain a contender. One of the key priorities for the team should be re-signing Draymond Green. Even though Green declined his $27.5 million player option, NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski has expressed confidence that Green would stay with the Warriors.
“Opting out was just for procedure. It made sense to do that financially and now go back and negotiate a new deal with the Warriors. These are two sides that very much want to get a deal done. Draymond and Rich Paul are not posturing and threatening to go elsewhere, even though there are great options out there for them… I think there’s a desire on both sides to stay together, they want each other. For Draymond Green, the idea of continuing with Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Steve Kerr, it means the world to him. It’s just a matter of whether it’s a four-year deal or a three-year deal. I don’t sense any sense from either side that this could go sideways. I think these sides are destined to reunite.”
There’s no doubt that this is good news for the Golden State Warriors, but obviously, things in the league can change in an instant. Hopefully, though, we see Draymond Green in a Warriors jersey again next season, and we’ll see what happens in the future…
