As the Washington Wizards teeter on the edge of a complete rebuild, Bradley Beal is getting caught in the crossfire from teams all across the association. Beal, who is locked into a long-term contract, is expected to seriously reconsider his future with the franchise this summer and multiple teams are already reported to have made offers for him.
The All-Star shooting guard finds himself in a unique situation thanks to his no-trade clause that will give him almost complete control over where he ends up. According to insiders, one landing spot could be the Sacramento Kings. Apparently, they have had some preliminary talks with the Wizards on a potential deal.
“Another team that’s had Bradley Beal trade talks with the Wizards: The Kings, sources tell me and @sam_amick,” wrote Shams Charania. “It’s believed Beal would consider Sacramento given his no-trade clause, but right now there does not appear a clear pathway for the two sides.”

It would be tricky to snag Beal without giving up Fox or Sabonis, but the Kings could become the next Western Conference powerhouse if they somehow pulled it off. In 50 games during the 2022-23 campaign, Beal averaged 23.2 points, 5.4 assists, and 3.9 rebounds per game on 50% shooting.
The Kings Could Become A Dynasty With New Big Three
Due largely to the addition of Domantas Sabonis, we saw the Kings go from a fringe playoff team to a potential Finals contender. Sadly, even with the Kings entering the playoffs as the top offense in basketball, it wasn’t enough to get past the first round.
Adding a guy like Beal to the fold, an 11-year veteran and certified sharpshooter would increase their chances of making a more notable run. If not, you still have to feel good about their outlook in the future.
“It was probably a necessary step in our growth,” Mike Brown on the first-round defeat. “This summer is going to be huge for us. I’m proud of everybody. I’m proud of what we accomplished in year 1. I feel like we have the group to get it done.”
Only time will tell if this is the summer that Beal finally gets traded, but don’t be surprised if the Kings are among the most aggressive suitors if the Wizards do decide to move on from him for good.
