In what was easily the best season in modern Kings history, De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis finally brought respect to the franchise after pushing the defending champions to seven games in the NBA playoffs.

Although Sacramento couldn’t close the deal in Game 7, they still have a lot to be proud of overall and head coach Mike Brown even suggested that this loss was a necessary step in the growing process for his guys.

“It was probably a necessary step in our growth,” Mike Brown on the first-round defeat. “This summer is going to be huge for us. I’m proud of everybody. I’m proud of what we accomplished in year 1. I feel like we have the group to get it done.”

After almost two decades of not making the postseason, the Kings took a major step as a franchise with a 3rd place finish in the West this season. Despite some flaws and inexperience from many of the core players, they gave the Warriors a real fight and are expected to come back stronger than ever next season.

What’s Next For The Kings After Playoff Defeat?

With the drought finally over and an impressive season under their belt, the Kings can confidently say they’d found their star core. With Fox and Sabonis, they have a tandem that can compete with the best, and they deserve another chance to see what they can accomplish together.

No doubt, they will look to De’Aaron Fox t continue his development and take another leap as a star and leader.

“I’ve been in a lot of playoff series against a lot of different guys. And if I’m honest, you leave most with less respect for a lot of guys. … “And then there’s some you gain respect for. … And Fox is one of those guys,” said Draymond Green.

De’Aarn Fox was an incredible closer for the Kings this season and he showed they he can be cunted on to deliver when his team needs him most.

Sadly, a finger injury limited his performance towards the end of this series, but if he’s healthy in the future, no team can afford t dismiss the impact he makes offensively.

Sacramento is going to be good for a long time and playing the Warriors in the postseason may have just helped them get better for another run down the road…
