The Charlotte Hornets have the No. 2 pick ahead of the 2023 NBA Draft and they have seen both Scoot Henderson and Brandon Miller in play.
Per Jonathan Givony and Jeremy Woo of ESPN, the Hornets liked what they saw from Henderson, who was labeled as impressive in terms of his shot-making and even his physical attributes. Miller was worked out on Wednesday, and there have already been glowing reports about him.
Per Hoops Wire, the Hornets are also willing to part with their No. 2 pick, but in the process have some immense demands. “But a league source said they are seeking ‘the sun, moon, the stars and maybe some beachfront property’ in exchange,” wrote the site’s Sam Amico.
The San Antonio Spurs will surely select Victor Wembanyama with the No. 1 overall pick next Thursday. What happens after remains to be seen. In all probability, the Hornets might be the ones to draft Henderson, who has been spoken about a tad more than Miller. His skill set also makes for a good pairing alongside LaMelo Ball, and that will come as good news for Charlotte, who will seek a change in fortunes this season.
Scoot Henderson Gets Real On The Possibility Of Playing Alongside Damian Lillard
Scoot Henderson is working to convince lottery teams that he’s the real deal. And he is looking like one of the players who can indeed be the difference maker to whichever side he plays for.
After his workout with the Portland Trail Blazers earlier, the young guard was asked about his chances to create a backcourt with superstar Damian Lillard. And in response, Henderson had an ice-cool answer:
“Those guys have different games than me,” he said when speaking on other guards his size that played with Lillard. “Anywhere I go, I think I can fit in. I can do a lot of things on the floor and I think that’s the beauty about me and the beauty about being Scoot Henderson. I’m going to give 110 percent effort every time. I’m an attacker, I’m a facilitator and I can do a lot of things on the floor. I think I can fit in anywhere.”
That’s massive confidence coming in, but the youngster will also have to keep in mind that the NBA of the modern-day is grueling and not to mention challenging. Who drafts him now is anybody’s guess.
