Point guard Kyrie Irving is an All-NBA talent when healthy, and there’s no doubt that he’s an elite offensive player that can handle the ball well and create his own shot. This summer, Irving is a free agent.

Though a lot of people expect Kyrie Irving to re-sign with the Dallas Mavericks, it seems as though the point guard could want to go elsewhere. A recent report revealed that Kyrie Irving is willing to join the Miami Heat, but the team would prefer to go after players like Damian Lillard or Bradley Beal. Another report notably suggested that the team has a pathway to land both of those players.

“I do think Kyrie Irving wants to come here… I don’t think the Heat are going to be subservient to Kyrie’s wishes. I will find that much more of a long shot.”

Though Kyrie Irving would help the Miami Heat with shot creation and offense, it is clear that the Miami Heat are prioritizing other players. Bradley Beal, in particular, could be a realistic option, as he has a no-trade clause in his contract, which basically allows him to dictate where he goes.

This season, Kyrie Irving averaged 27.1 PPG, 5.1 RPG, and 5.5 APG for the Brooklyn Nets and the Dallas Mavericks. He would be a good addition to any team looking to improve their offense, and we’ll see where he ends up in the future.

The Miami Heat Made A Trade Offer For Kyrie Irving Ahead Of The Trade Deadline

Though they may not pursue Kyrie Irving this time around, the Miami Heat have had an interest in the guard previously. In fact, it was reported that they made an offer for Kyrie Irving before he got sent to the Dallas Mavericks.

“They’re going to explore, see what the star market is like out there,” Shams Charania said about the Miami Heat’s plans. He added, “Just to give you a glimpse of what they looked at over the past couple of months, they made an offer to the Nets for Kyrie Irving at the deadline right before he got traded to the Mavericks.

The Miami Heat clearly need to make some changes if they are to become a championship team in the future and take advantage of Jimmy Butler’s prime. Hopefully, they manage to do so, and we’ll see what happens this offseason.
