Spencer Dinwiddie is a starting-caliber point guard in the NBA and played a crucial role in the Dallas Mavericks’ 2022 Western Conference Finals run. He was traded during the season for Kyrie Irving and returned to the Brooklyn Nets, the team where he first became a household name.
Dinwiddie is on a visit to China right now and was playing with a Chinese streetball player on an open court. Unfortunately for the NBA player, the streetballer ended up pulling a filthy nutmeg before hitting a three in Dinwiddie’s face with a whole crowd watching.

Dinwiddie averaged 17.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 6.5 assists this season across his time with Dallas and Brooklyn. He is expected to stay with the Nets next season but the team is looking for upgrades at the guard position in the short-term. Dinwiddie excelled in Dallas when he was coming off the bench behind Luka Doncic and Jalen Brunson, so that may be his next step with the Nets.
The Nets Need To Pick A Direction
After trading away Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant in the winter, the Nets are firmly placed in the middle of the NBA. They have a lot of solid players that the team could find value from, but their current collection of talent cannot ascend to being a title contender. They fell from the top of the East to the sixth seed after making their trades, so the team is aware they need a star-level player.
Mikal Bridges was a revelation and is likely going to be a core foundational piece alongside Nicolas Claxton. Everyone else could be available for trade, as the Nets are incentivized to compete atop the table due to some of their future picks being owed to the other team.
