Jimmy Butler is in the NBA Finals for the second time in four seasons, but Game 1 didn’t go as he might have hoped. The Denver Nuggets comfortably beat the Miami Heat, and there happens to be a two-day break before Game 2 on Sunday night.

After a grueling Eastern Conference Finals, Jimmy Butler seemingly needs to recuperate a bit in the little time off that he has. And he shared photos on his Instagram story from what seemed like a weekend getaway with his friends somewhere near Denver.

Butler seems to have taken a road trip somewhere, probably in Colorado, considering that Games 1 and 2 are both in Denver. He shared a video of the lovely countryside and what appear to be farm animals from a moving car.

Jimmy Butler has been playing through some injury and physical distress in these playoffs. And if he wants to give his best in Game 2, he needs to be feeling as close to 100% fit as possible. He’s not neglecting what needs to be done, and he shared a photo of himself getting a massage while on his getaway.

While getting his body ready for Game 2 is important, not letting his mindset too tense will surely also help Butler. He is remembering to enjoy himself, sharing a picture of some sweet goodies that he was eating in his story as well.

There might be people that try to scrutinize his decision to take some time away from the team at this moment, but that is uncalled for. Jimmy Butler has been in this position before, and he knows what it will take to overcome a behemoth like the Nuggets. The fact that he can relax like this is a testament to his mentality more than anything else.

Jimmy Butler Needs To Improve Significantly On His Game 1 Performance

Jimmy Butler had just 13 points in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. He wasn’t aggressive in going to the rim at all and shot a poor 42% from the field. The Heat lost the game, and Butler accepted his portion of the blame for the loss. But this means that all eyes will be on him for Game 2.

The Miami Heat and Jimmy Butler have done exceptionally well to make it to the NBA Finals, but if they don’t give a good showing, they will be criticized. Butler taking some time off to recalibrate is a good sign, he will surely be raring to go by the time Game 2 comes around on Sunday night.
