Nikola Jokic And The Nuggets Are All Business After Game 1 Finals Win: “Three More!”

Coming into the opening contest of the 2023 NBA Finals, most fans and experts were expecting a short series, with the Denver Nuggets coming out on top. While there’s still some work left to be done for the Nuggets, they appear well on their way to victory after a dominant showing in Game 1 on Thursday.

But even despite grabbing the win in blowout fashion, the Nuggets did not celebrate as they began the walk to the locker room. Instead, it was all business as each member of the team kept their focus on finishing the mission at hand.

All season long, the narrative about the Nuggets was about how they had to prove themselves in the playoffs. After falling short time and time again, it was going to take a convincing run for the Nuggets to be taken seriously as contenders in the West.

Needless to say, they’ve earned that title now as they sit just three wins away from the championship.

This is new territory for the Nuggets franchise. Despite some amazing talent over the years, this is the first time they’ve been this close to a title, and they can practically taste victory in the air.

For Jokic, in particular, this has to feel good after so much noise throughout the regular season. To win now, in this fashion, is truly bringing validation to his accomplishments as an NBA superstar.

Are The Nuggets The Newest NBA Dynasty?

Jokic is obviously in the prime of his career right now, and he’s not even 30 yet. With still years left on the Nikola/Murray timeline, one has to wonder how long this team can dominate the NBA.

For now, though, they are only focused on what’s in front of them. If they take things a game at a time and play the right way, this series will be over, and they can celebrate like champions.

But it won’t be long before ambitions grow again for this team, and it’s likely we will see Jokic back on this stage frequently over the next few years…
