Draymond Green has been linked to the Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James for some time now, and he was in the spotlight again for being upset after the team lost to the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals.
Taking to his podcast, Green lambasted all the fans who called him a Lakers supporter. “By the way for all of y’all out there that was like, ‘Aw man the Lakers lost and Draymond won’t do a podcast,’ I play for the Golden State Warriors,” Green said.
“Some of you people are so pathetic, and like the beliefs you allow yourself to believe, and I can absolutely understand why life doesn’t be so great. Because of the beliefs you allow to enter your mind about someone else, really is a reflection of what you believe and think of yourself and how you operate and think.”

He further added that he was on vacation and was having a margarita made from Lobos tequila (LeBron James’ alcohol brand). “Absolutely incredible, but like I said anyway, toast to all of you… However, a lotta people better be lucky that I took the weekend off. It was actually my first weekend to have off, like first weekend completely off since September, like no work.”
Minus the Lobos, there’s no doubt that Green was upset with what was being spoken about. A fierce competitor on the floor, there was no doubt that he had enough skirmishes with James over the years, but it also gave way to mutual respect and friendship between the two.
Fanbases can be scathing with their thoughts sometimes, but it’s good to see Green set the record straight.
Kendrick Perkins Believes The Lakers Must Acquire Draymond Green This Offseason
With both the Warriors and the Lakers finishing up their season, the onus is on their offseason where the front office gets busy with ringing in some changes.
On his part, former NBA star Kendrick Perkins believes that the Lakers must make a beeline for Green this summer. “If I’m Draymond, I’m trying to get to LA and if I’m LA, I’m trying to get Draymond Green,” he said, via ESPN.
Meanwhile, the Warriors and Green are mulling over one final hurrah together. “It’s incredible when you look at the number of guys who’ve played for only one team. You can look around the NBA right now,” Green said. “There are five guys that have been on a team for 11 years plus. We have three of them [along with Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson]. It’s a very rare thing. There are 470, 480 players in the NBA. There are five guys that have been with his team for 11 years plus. That’s amazing. So, you don’t just give that away.”
And given his recent slamming to fans who questioned his loyalty, it shouldn’t be a surprise if Green decided to stay with Golden State and run it back one more time.
