At 38 years old, LeBron James is doing things that were once thought impossible. Somehow, after 20 seasons in the league, he continues to rank among the best players in the world and is leading the Lakers through another playoff run.

What James has been doing this season, and really for years now, is truly incredible and it doesn’t look like he’ll be slowing down anytime soon. In fact, according to Austin Reaves, LeBron is far from your typical 38-year-old NBA veteran.

“He honestly seems like about 18,” said Reaves on the King. “He acts like about 18. He’s very childish in a great way.”

With nearly two decades of experience in the NBA, LeBron knows all the secrets to success and he’s been doing his best to pass on his wisdom and knowledge to the youngsters.

“We got a lot of young guys, I understand that it’s my job to make sure they’re even keel,” said James. “One game is not going to define the whole series. We have to be better. I want everyone to be comfortable when we go on the floor and just play free. Let me worry about the Xs and Os and the tactical things and all the other stuff, I can do that, I have the ability to do that.”

So while LeBron may be ‘childish’ in the sense of having energy and adding life to the locker room, he’s old when it comes to experience and knowing what it takes to succeed at the highest level.

How Much Longer Can LeBron Play Like A Superstar?

Despite defying Father Time itself, James cannot play like this forever. Eventually, he will have to step away and we’ve already seen his game slown down a good bit over the years.

In fact, according to James himself, he feels more comfortable now than he did as a teenager.

“I feel better than [he felt at] 18,” James said. “I didn’t know what I could become at 18. But I just knew if I continued to put in the work, I continued to be true to the game, then I could be one of the greatest players to ever play this game. I just always believed that. …”There are times when I’m on the floor where I do feel like a kid again. That’s for sure.”

It has truly been amazing to watch LeBron dominate at 38 years old, and his play continues to break past expectations. At this point, it’s a fool’s errand to put a clock on LeBron’s career as his body seems to play by a different set of rules than everybody else.
