The talent level in the NBA at the moment is at an all-time high, so picking the most talented players in every position is a bit of a hard task.
Paul George tried his hand at it on the latest episode of Podcast P, and while he initially picked LaMelo Ball as the most talented point guard, he switched his pick to his brother, Lonzo Ball.
“I’m going LaMelo and Lonzo,” George said. “I think both of them have pure talent. Actually, I would say Lonzo (has) more pure talent than LaMelo.”
One of the hosts disagreed with George which led to the Clippers guard asking what can’t Lonzo do on the court. When the host bizarrely claimed that Ball couldn’t shoot, PG rebuffed him by bringing up the fact that he shot 40% from beyond the arc. George then went on praise Lonzo’s unique skill set.
“What can’t Lonzo do? He can guard, he can shoot, he can playmake, his IQ, he can rebound great for his position. What can’t Lonzo do?”

Lonzo’s long injury absence seems to have led to some forgetting just how good he was when we last saw him on the court. In 35 games with the Chicago Bulls in the 2021-22 season, he averaged 13.0 PPG, 5.4 RPG, 5.1 APG, 1.8 SPG, and 0.9 BPG while shooting 42.3% from beyond the arc.
While you can certainly argue for someone else being more talented than him, Ball does have all the tools as George says. As for the rest of his team, PG went with Jaylen Brown, Brandon Ingram, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Joel Embiid.
Lonzo Ball Is Aiming To Become The First Player To Return From Cartilage Transplant Surgery
Lonzo’s last game in the NBA came all the way back on 14th January 2022 against the Golden State Warriors. He had to undergo surgery to repair a torn left meniscus but his recovery didn’t go to plan and he needed arthroscopic knee surgery in September. There was hope that Lonzo could return at some point this season but it was revealed earlier this year that he’d need a third surgery.
Ball underwent cartilage transplant surgery and is set to be out of action for most, if not the whole of next season as well. If he does manage to return to the court, he would be the first player ever to come back from this surgery. It is a shame how things have panned out but Lonzo has shown he is determined to fight through this and we certainly hope he is successful in this comeback attempt.
