Draymond Green’s ejection after stomping Domantas Sabonis proved pivotal in the Golden State Warriors’ Game 2 defeat vs. the Sacramento Kings.
While Green provided an explanation for it, the harm has already been done. Evidently, head coach Steve Kerr was asked about his opinion on the incident during the postgame conference. Kerr gave a very cloudy response to the question and seemed to be avoiding the confrontation.
“I didn’t see the play live, and then I didn’t see the replay,” Kerr said. “I asked Zach Zarba what happened, and he told me. I was busy with getting the team ready. One of the coaches told me that he might get ejected, and so, I was trying to prepare for what was next.”

Kerr was obviously dodging the question. After all, he must be furious about it. Speaking of furious, this is the first time that Steve Kerr has gone down 0-2 in the playoffs as the Warriors’ head coach.
Considering Kerr is yet to lose against a Western Conference team in the playoffs in his career, Green’s ejection has put his record in jeopardy as well.
Steve Kerr Believes Draymond Green Is The Best Defender Ever
Any successful team in the NBA needs a player like Draymond Green. Someone who can be the defensive anchor of the team during the playoffs.
Green has fulfilled that role for the Dubs throughout his career. But he is arguably out of his prime now. Despite that, Steve Kerr is a firm believer in the fact that Green is the best defender ever.
“He’s the best defender I’ve ever seen, and I’ve been around some really good ones. … I’ve never seen anything like it.”
Kerr has unwavering trust in Draymond, and it has paid off more often than not. But if the Warriors get eliminated from the playoffs in the first round, a lot of blame could be put on the shoulders of Green for getting ejected in a crucial game of the series.
