Anthony Davis has been the backbone for the Los Angeles Lakers over the last few weeks since the announcement of LeBron James’ foot injury.

During this time span, Davis has managed to help the Lakers win a plethora of games. But at the same time, AD has failed on a few occasions when the Lakers needed a crucial victory. Something similar happened when the Lakers recently lost against the Dallas Mavericks. Despite the loss, Davis is the leader of the team, and it’s his responsibility to motivate the team when required.

“What did I tell them? I don’t know I mean I already came in and told that last play was my fault, but let’s say watch again tonight, watch the film tomorrow. Shoot some free throws. There’s nothing we can do about it, to be honest. Our focus is now Sunday, trying to win against Orlando.”

One would have expected Davis to deliver a much better message to his teammates to uplift their morale after the defeat. Well, AD did his best to do so, but we are not sure if he made a good effort of doing so.

To be honest, Davis looks disappointed in himself and the entire Lakers roster for falling short against the Dallas Mavericks.

Can Anthony Davis Carry The Lakers To The Playoffs?

Anthony Davis is undoubtedly one of the best players in the league, and this season he has been in great form. Sure, he has missed a few games due to injury, but when he has stayed healthy, Davis has played incredibly well.

In the absence of LeBron James, it’s obvious that expectations from Davis have increased multiple times. There are even rumors that if Davis fails to carry the team without LeBron James, he may end up getting traded this summer.

Speaking of Davis’ chances of carrying the Lakers, the team is currently 34-37 and holds the 10th seed in the West. So, theoretically, there is still a chance that Davis will be able to carry the Purple and Gold to the postseason.
