Donovan Mitchell quashed reports about his concerns about playing with Jimmy Butler on the Miami Heat. The Cleveland Cavaliers guard was heavily linked to the side along with the New York Knicks.

Recently, Ethan Skolnick of Five Reasons Sports spoke on Miami Heat Beat’s HangoverTime Postgame Show and outlined that Mitchell ” was a little bit concerned” about sharing the floor with Butler.

However, the Cavaliers’ mainstay took to Twitter to put that case to rest. “We live in a world where you can just say anything and it just be true smh,” Mitchell wrote.

Mitchell was on the list for the Cavaliers and the Knicks, and the former eventually roped him in a trade for Lauri Markkanen, Collin Sexton, and Ochai Agbaji, three first-round picks, and two pick swaps.

It’s been a good run for the guard with Cleveland, as he averages 27.2 PPG on 47.8 percent shooting. The season also saw him put up a blockbuster71-point performance that’s, in turn, helped the team sit pretty with a 43-27 record. His exploits have ensured that the Cavaliers are now prime playoff contenders.

Donovan Mitchell Joked That A Cavaliers Championship Was On The 2023 NBA Script

One of the oldest and still hilarious jokes in the NBA is that there is a script that dictates the journey of a season, and while there have been conspiracy theories and speculations since, it’s pretty much a laughter-inducer at the end of the day.

As for Mitchell, he did hope that a Cavaliers win was part of the script for this season. He did have his thoughts when asked about what was in the NBA’s script earlier.

“These script jokes are getting out of hand, first and foremost. I don’t know,” he said. When pressed if there was a Cavs win, he responded: “That’s the goal. That’s why we play this game, so hopefully, yeah.”

Irrespective, the Cavaliers have been one of the more pleasant surprises this season, and they have played some quality ball to get to where they are. As they coast their way to the postseason, the next challenge is to see if they can head deeper.
