Karl Malone is undoubtedly one of the greatest players in the history of the NBA and arguably the greatest player of all time for the Utah Jazz. During his phenomenal career, Malone amassed a plethora of accolades, but winning an NBA Championship wasn’t one of them.

Either way, Karl Malone didn’t become a great player overnight. He had an intense training regime that helped him reach that status. It helped him in claiming the third spot in the NBA’s all-time scoring record with 36,928 points to his name.

Anyway, today, our focus is not on Malone’s time in the NBA. Instead, we will be taking a look at what Karl Malone has done since retiring from the league. The most recent news about him was being named a judge in the NBA All-Star Slam Dunk Contest in Utah.

Karl Malone’s Take On Basketball And Hunting

Back in 2010, Karl Malone sat down for an exclusive interview with Bleacher Report. During the interview, Malone revealed his love for hunting and also explained the differences between the two.

Via Bleacher Report:

Adam Fisher: How does basketball compare to hunting?

Karl Malone: Well basketball your making something happen and your forcing the issue to make stuff happen. Hunting is patience; your waiting for something to happen. If you go out hunting and you are on 100,000 acres you got to have some luck, but the skill would be taking the shot. Everybody says you have to have skill, it’s actually just a lot of luck and patience but it’s effort, you have to put effort into it.

Obviously, basketball and hunting are two very different things. In basketball, it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to ultimately make it to the elite level.

On the other hand, the matter of skill in hunting only counts when it comes to taking the final shot. Rest of it depends on a lot of luck, as per Karl Malone. Either way, hunting is an interesting hobby of the Mailman.
