It all started with Josh Hart, who’s joining the New York Knicks in exchange for Cam Reddish, Svi Mykhailiuk, Ryan Arcidiacono, and a protected 2023 first-round pick. This was a solid move by the Blazers, but they aren’t done making trades today.
They keep making moves with Eastern Conference teams, and now the Philadelphia 76ers sent out one of their most sought-after players, Matisse Thybulle.

The defensive specialist is headed to Moda Center, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. In exchange, the Blazers are sending Jalen McDaniels to the Philadelphia 76ers and New York’s Svi Mykhailiuk to Charlotte.

This is a very interesting move for the Blazers, who aren’t favorites to come out of the West this season. To say that these moves make them contenders is a stretch, but they appear to be going in the right direction for the future.
They have a terrific leader in Damian Lillard, but Dame needs more to reach the NBA Finals once and for all. This couldn’t be the last move we see from Portland today, as they keep trying to bolster their ranks.
The 2023 trade deadline has given us plenty of emotions, and we’ll keep seeing them until it strikes. The Blazers have been one of the most active teams today, but their trades aren’t that good to take them to the top of the Western Conference.
Perhaps the front office has a final trick under the sleeve, but we’ll have to wait to see what they do for the rest of the day.
