The Los Angeles Lakers have recently traded for power forward Rui Hachimura, and there is no doubt that many are excited about the acquisition. He is averaging 13.0 PPG, 4.3 RPG, and 1.2 APG, and Hachimura profiles as a good multi-positional defender with some ability to create his own offense. Hachimura will clearly help the Lakers as a two-way player.

Even if the Lakers do get better with this deal, there is a possibility that the acquisition of Hachimura alone won’t help them make the playoffs. However, there is also a chance that Hachimura blossoms once on the Lakers and immediately provides enough impact to help the team get to the postseason. Underneath a recent post, NBA fans debated whether Rui Hachimura will make the Lakers a playoff team.

They still need more shooting. Hachimura is a start though.

Healthy AD, yes and a contender at that. Without AD, I can see them scraping into play in but nothing more

They’re already the 2023 Champs

healthy lakers are already a playoff team but twitter trolls will tell you they won’t win 30 games

Bro dropped 30 his last game and ppl say he not making a difference? Lol

LeBron James 7’0 wingspan, Rui Hachimura 7’2 wingspan, Anthony Davis 7’6 wingspan, Thomas Bryant 7’6 wingspan. All long and solves a issue the Lakers I rooted for had for about 2 years.

Once AD gets healthy we’ll get into top 5 seed.

They’re not even making the playins

Not yet.. gotta make a couple more trades then yea

Yes if they are healthy

They were already a playoff team unless Bron goes down! He will help with spacing for sure

Makes them better, but not season changing better.

They’ll make the playoffs but he’s honestly not that big of a difference

We need to get another big.

playoff team ? i have them as the favorites to win the championship now

It is clear that people’s opinions on this subject vary. Though some really believe in Rui Hachimura’s fit on the Lakers, others think that more moves need to be made. The Lakers have recently been linked with Bojan Bogdanovic recently as well, and it is clear the team is looking for ways to improve ahead of the trade deadline. Rui Hachimura likely isn’t the only move that is going to be made by the Lakers, and we’ll see what happens in the future.

The Los Angeles Lakers Could Still Trade Russell Westbrook

Russell Westbrook has been prominently featured in trade rumors this year, and perhaps the Los Angeles Lakers will end up trading him in the future. A recent report revealed that the Lakers have continued their trade talks with the Spurs regarding the point guard.

Interestingly, a team insider says that talks between the Spurs and the Los Angeles Lakers that involve Russell Westbrook are still alive. Those talks have been on the back burner for a couple months but I’ve been told that both the Lakers and Spurs remain open to the possibility depending on how the next two weeks play out prior to the trade deadline.

In addition to Poeltl, the Lakers are said to be interested in Josh Richardson and Doug McDermott.

There is no doubt that getting Russell Westbrook would allow the Spurs to get a huge expiring contract and clear some salary. From their perspective, this would be a no-brainer.

However, it is unclear if the Los Angeles Lakers will end up moving Russell Westbrook. He still has a good amount of value on the court as a sixth man, and we’ll see what happens in the future.
