The Los Angeles Lakers are the talk of town this offseason. Following an awful season where the Purple And Gold could not even make it to the playoffs, the Lakers Big Three experiment of adding Russell Westbrook fell flat.
Westbrook, who is a former MVP, failed to make a significant impact on the team. While many thought that he would be the fail-safe in case LeBron James or Anthony Davis were injured, ‘Brodie’ could not assert his game style and ended up having one of his worst seasons ever.
Given how the Westbrook experiment hasn’t gone according to plan for both the parties, rumors of the Lakers trading Russ have been rampant. While his future with the Lake show remains uncertain, the 9-time All-Star recently made the headlines as he sacked his long time agent Thad Foucher.
Westbrook’s former agent also had some bold claims regarding Russ parting ways with him. Yesterday, Thad Foucher claimed that ‘Brodie’ was indeed looking for a way out of Lakers, but with his agent not agreeing with his decision, Russ sacked him.
Understandably, the 33-year-old hasn’t responded to these claims, but his social media activity might have showed clearly what Westbrook thinks about the whole debacle.

Liking a tweet from a fan who claimed that the comments from his former agent were indeed false, Westbrook might have implied that the firing of his agent was not because of the ongoing Lakers situation.
While Westbrook might not agree to what his former agent claims, given how terrible last season was, only a miracle could salvage his move to the Lakers.
The franchise, on the other hand, has been fairly quiet in the offseason. While they brought in some crucial role player signings, they haven’t pulled off a massive trade per se. Given how stylistically different Westbrook is to the likes of LeBron James and Anthony Davis, Brodie is surely on the trading block.
But the Lakers will be vary of the take packages surrounding Westbrook and given how this experiment imploded, they should be extra careful of the player they are targeting right now.
